Chimpanzee Problem Solving
A brief, interesting clip from National Geographic’s “Ape Genius” documentary, demonstrating problem solving skills in chimpanzees, by using water as a flotation aid to retrieve a treat from a narrow tube. This experiment was conducted at the Max Planck Institute in Leipzig, Germany.

Crap; my first instinct was to shatter the glass with a rock. The chimp’s solution was way more elegant.

The weird part is that the chimp is brilliant enough to devise this solution, yet puts his hand into the tube several times while the peanut is still clearly unreachable.
