It is a glitch. BTW you can get banned for it. In the Terms of Service if you exploit a glitch, aka repeatably using the glitch and they catch you they will ban you.
Of course the regular way is faster - for easy puzzles only; and the person was just using the easy puzzle for demonstration purposes, but it works on hard puzzles too, making it worth it. Or at least, did at the time this was posted…
