Knock Off Puzzles
One extra note, if you ever see a KO, don’t advertise it., even if it’s a new type of puzzle. Though it will be interesting for everyone to see, IT WILL ALSO GENERATE THE WRONG KIND OF INTEREST! Here’s the list of the KO’s I have so far: Floppy Cube: It’s a Lanlan brand 1×3x3 cube. It’s sold on Cube4you.com. It was legally sold on mefferts.com, but is now out of stock: mefferts.com So if you ever see one, just don’t buy it! Hollow Cube: It’s a Lanlan void cube. It’s sold on Cube4You. Ironically, the legal version is also sold on Cube4You! It’s made by, Katsuhiko Okamoto & it is officially called the Void Cube: cube2you.com The Lanlan brand is very cheap, so that’ll give you a clue if you ever think you see one. Katsuhiko’s is rather expensive, so be willing to pay a lot if you ever want a Void Cube. Edge Only Hollow Cube: Basically the same thing as the Hollow Cube, except it doesn’t have any corners. There is no legal version of this cube, so just don’t buy one. Pillowed Mastermorphix: It’s again a Lanlan brand puzzle. This is a pillowed tetrahedron transformation of a 3×3. It’s sold on Cube4You as KO. Mefferts is legal place to buy it, so only buy one if you see the Mefferts logo on! Here’s the link to the black version: mefferts.com Last update on 11-29-2009. This is all I have so far. Any more feedback will be appreciated. I want info of KO’s from Cube4You the most. Oh, & I probably won’t respond to a message about KO’s, unless I need to. But I will still get them …

i have a knock off v-7 its good and u cant tell the diffince from the original
i have one
Why do you think I have the slightest intrest in your 7×7
ummm…. so your saying just cus u dont like knock offs we cant buy them? plus anyways 1/2 of the knockoffs were planned and set up to produce before some of the puzzles were pattented… plus wow .. yes spending $3 on a knock off will kill another company somehow.. plus Meffert whos a friend wouldnt stop for any reason dumb ass and no one else would unless they sell it for money alone
idk just telling about my v7 knock off the only difference is adjutible screws.
Most of the knock offs our there have better turning than brand cubes. Heck yeah i’m gonna buy a knock off.
If you plan to make a mod..then go with the knockoff…why mess up a $50.00 cube when you can ruin a $20 (and have fun at the same time).
i’m buying a knock of 9×9, because vcube has not come out with the 9×9
i didnt realize that the lan lan pillowed mastermorphinx was a knock off lol and i just bought it like two days ago
dont! they are a waste of money and are crap aaaaassssss!
Im glad you’re caring for the companies but like someone said down there some cubes are better even though theyre knockoffs and if youre gonna try a mod might as well try those 3 dollar ones instead of those 30 dollar ones off mefferts
Tony Fisher came out with an
11×11x11 but has yet to show its mechanism to the public or sell it.
Is an MF8 Square 1 a Knock Off
isnt everything a knock off of a the regular Rubiks Cube 3×3x3. If u dont buy KO v-cubes or KO mefferts, then dont buy any cube at all. cuz Ernol Rubik(i think thats his name) invented the Rubiks Cube. Hence the name rubiks cube.
Im glad mefferts has no knock offs, its like my favorite cube-selling website. and no 3×3x3s are not knock offs because erno rubik started them but other people got the idea from him. It would be a knock off though if the said it was rubiks
omg i used to buy knock offs ,but after i watch this vid i feel sorry for the person who actually invent the original, (altough knock offs are better than the original)
they don’t sell the regular void cube at cube4you anymore
i am so sorry i didn’t know it was a knockoff
i am so sorry i didn’t know it was a knockoff i bought one :(
Hi all.
The author of this video suggests to not buy knock-offs. From the moral point of view he is 100% right.
But let us look at reality in other (not so rich countries). Here in Ukraine (where I live) the salary of a middle-level-manager is $300-$400 per month.
Question: if a person who earns $30 per month sees a cube for $40 at mefferts, and the same KO cube for $4 - how do you think, which puzzle he will buy? (I am not talking about me, I am talking about other 90% of people)
I just wanted to say, that for those companies like mefferts, v-cube, etc, it would be nice to “come down on earth from the sky” and take into account that millions of cubes could be sold in post soviet-union countries (with population of about half a billion people in total) in the case if they:
1) make prices lower
2) make regional distribution offices in Ukraine, Russia, etc., who would sell them using networks of shops for children and regular markets (and there are A LOT of such shops)
Your point is clear. But everybody is free to spend their money on the article they want to buy at a price level they prefer to pay.
When you autamatically paused it your face was funny.
why do u even care?
in other words, bootleg:)
