NASA | Piecing Together the Temperature Puzzle

The decade from 2000 to 2009 was the warmest in the modern record. “Piecing Together the Temperature Puzzle” illustrates how NASA satellites enable us to study possible causes of climate change. The video explains what role fluctuations in the solar cycle, changes in snow and cloud cover, and rising levels of heat-trapping gases may play in contributing to climate change. The idea that most scientists reject evolution comes from the same kind of conspiracy buffs who deny global warming. It goes like this: “most scientists disagree that climate/species change but since there’s a global conspiracy they don’t say it”. I’ve seen that argument countless times.
Reality is exactly the opposite. Scientists agree that human activity effects climate change right NOW.
Btw nobody said it’s gonna kill us, it’s just gonna fuck our civilisation up.
PS: please learn punctuation.

i think you have some valid points, but you shouldn’t tell people to “learn punctuation” when you use comma splices, incorrect periods within quotation marks, and spell “affects” as “effects.”

w00t. It’s cold all fucking year round bring on the god damn mother fucking heat, we need a HOT planet none of this cold bullshit.

I want some mother fucking hot weather all fucking year round dammit!

I think it’s climate changes every 2000 years. the barber told me that. I should not worry about it because it might create hysteria , then we’d have to face tougher decisions. like living in the moon. on the sober side, it’s best to clean up our act and not be paranoid. in any case, climate change will still happen after 2000 years. i won’t be alive then, but for the future generation, i’ll give it a try. evolution sucks. i don’t want extra feet.

I did mean “effect”. As in: humans effect climate change. But thanks about the rest; I’ll be more careful (though I don’t see where I used periods within quotation marks).
My English may not be perfect but man, tacoman’s prose is borderline illegible.

Did you even watch the video ?

Too much cold or too much heat is bad, saying that ” bring on the god damn mother fucking heat ” is frankly just stupid. Global warming affects all of us, water is among the most valuable resources, and a resource that isn’t abundant in some places, more heat would make living in those places even harder.

humans will adapt

That’s the crappy thing about global warming, Climate changes too fast for most species to be able to adapt. Including humans. So many people already see immigration as a problem, imagine a thousand times more worse immigration. Cause you certainly wouldn’t live in an area where you ran out of water, you would move to an area where there was water, causing problems to those who were already there.

Many of you miss the main point of this video. Green-house gases are the main reason temperature is rising. The molecules that make up gases can also cool the planet as well making them a “wild card.” It has also been proven that the planet goes through “hot” and “ice” ages. The only thing I see that we can do to cool our planet a bit more would to find a way to create more clouds or expand ice as these reflect heat off our planet.

brought to you by…go green…money money money…control with fear..silence all in the scientific community that oppose the idea of global warming…go green..

@Century88 However, sea levels are still rising as our north and south poles melt. We would have to take a certain amount of this sea water and re-freeze it in order to be efficient. I think doing this and increasing clouds, would somewhat work in an efficient way. Maybe re-freezing the ice is more effective since gases that help create clouds can also increase heat.

@enbilulugugal Global Warming is bullshit!

“most likely, could, should, maybe” They really need to stick to the facts rather then generalizing, or over stating facts in question. It makes it look like propaganda.

Man, i really get tired of hearing this crapola. my gosh, isn’t obvious that our planet has been much warmer, and much cooler at times during the last 1500 years or so. Can anyone dispute that? i don’t recall seeing any combustion engines or industrial pollutants back when the vikings lived in Greenland, nor do I remember any “green” initiatives cooling the earth back in the late 1600’s when minimal sunspot activity caused the little Ice Age.

Additionally, can we all agree that the recent cold spells in Europe and America have been highly detrimental to our ability to survive. Warm global temperatures coincide with periods of prosperity on our planet. Cold spells have been shown to cause disease, low crop production and loss of life.

Move the folks from the beach and lets enjoy the sunshine, whether or not we’re causing it, or its just a normal function of our complex, beautiful and wonderful planet.

What is NASA hiding in plain site? Very bizarre to me. /watch?v=hVnFPQtXDO4

YAY! I want to feel guilty for being human!

What do I do to make myself feel better? I KNOW! I’ll give money to Al Gore and vote for Obama!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

how are you going to refreeze >900000000 tones of sea water :-w

3/5

what I hate is how this video won’t actually wake up those people who are actually ignorant and not caring about this global warming. All they think about is gaining money and money no matter how much CO2 their factories produce every second. Can NASA with the global government work together to actually try to stop those people?

@ intigfx im only 14 and your 29 dont criticize and by the way i know that climate changes and i agree with evolution but global warming isnt going to have that great of an effect. and punctuation is bad for your health :P

A slight increase in global temperature can make thousands of species extinct, cause more droughts and extreme weather and affect crops.
Do you like malaria? Warming means tropical diseases reach further north and south; for example malaria mosquitoes are closer to Europe.
Rising sea levels are displacing millions of people in places like Bangladesh.
Etc, etc, etc.
Just google ‘effects of global warming’. You can ignore them, but it won’t make them go away.

what are you idiots gonna say 20 yr’s down the road when we’re in a deep freeze. stupid idiots need to study history. hot cold hot cold

the hot cold cycle you refer to is more than 100,000 years in duration so it doesn’t mean much in the short term
